President Donald Trump will be the most-watched president in modern American history, according to a new poll.
Trump has a 96% approval rating, the poll from Morning Consult and CNN/ORC found, while Hillary Clinton has a 68% approval and Bernie Sanders only 24%.
It’s also the most positive approval for a Republican president since George W. Bush was elected in 2004.
Trump also has a much larger lead over Hillary Clinton than previous presidents.
Trump leads Clinton by a margin of nearly 2 to 1 in the Morning Consult/CNN/ORR poll released Wednesday.
Trump is backed by 74% of Republicans, while Clinton is backed 76% by Democrats.
The survey found that 59% of those surveyed said they had a favorable opinion of Trump, while 39% had an unfavorable view of him.
Trump’s approval rating also is much higher than other recent presidents, according the poll.
He leads Barack Obama by a wide margin of more than 3 to 1, with 66% of voters saying they have a favorable view of the president, while 37% have an unfavorable opinion.
Trump and Clinton are tied for third place in the RealClearPolitics average of polls taken since January 1, the Morning Report reported.
Morning Consult founder Richard Florida said the president’s approval is the highest it’s been since November 2016, when President Donald Trumps first term ended in a massive defeat.
He also said the poll was the most favorable poll of his lifetime, which is a first for Morning Consult.
In a separate poll released Thursday morning, Morning Consult found that Clinton had a 49% to 43% lead over Trump in the Democratic presidential primary, according.
CNN’s Jake Tapper also reported that Trump’s support is far more than his overall numbers, which are down significantly since he lost the White House in 2016.
The president has a 93% approval among Republicans, and Clinton has 83%.
It is also Trump’s highest approval rating since he became president in January.
The Morning Consult poll has a margin in its favor of +/- 3 percentage points.
